1st 100% Green drycleaners in Reno, Sparks, and Carson City

Spot Cleaners is a drycleaners in Reno, NV that has been in business for 12 years. We have been looking for a method of cleaning that is effective and conscientious of the environment for some time. We have looked into Wetcleaning in the past and decided against it because it was a relatively new process and there wasn't much data posted on its pros and cons. We also examined other processes such as Greenearth, Hydrocarbon, CO2 and petroleum. All were viable candidates but none had the cleaning effectiveness as perc. We still wanted to produce a quality product that our customers expect.Perc (the solvent used by 85% of all drycleaners in the US) has very good cleaning properties, but it is also toxic and produces hazardous waste. It is classified as a probable carcinogen by the EPA. California has classified Perc as a solvent known to cause cancer and has passed laws to phase out the use of Perc in its state by 2023. Currently, there will be no new Perc drycleaning plants allowed in California. The EPA has approved CO2 and Wetcleaning as the only 100% Environmentally friendly cleaning methods. We have come to the conclusion that using water (the most abundant liquid on earth) is by far the superior cleaning method for both the environment and our customers. What is Wetcleaning? It has been around for 15 years and it now getting its due. The trial and error of cleaning "dryclean only" clothing has been perfected. Also the technology in the washers and dryers have had significant advancements in 15 years. Special computer controlled washers and humidity control dryers along with updated conditioners and detergents have made wetcleaning a viable option to Perc.Spot Cleaners will be the first and only drycleaners in Reno, Sparks, Carson City and Truckee to be 100% Green. No other drycleaners in the entire area can make that claim. As we know of, we will be the first and only wetcleaning facility in Northern Nevada thus establishing Spot Cleaners as the only 100% environmentally friendly cleaners in the area. There some cleaners that are claiming that title but it is not true. The cleaners that are making that claim are using hydrocarbon. This solvent is still a controlled and regulated substance overseen by the EPA and Air Quality Board. Because hydrocarbon is not Perc does not make it environmentally friendly.
