Save Energy, Save Money - Sustainable Workshop for Businesses
Thanks to everyone that joined us last Friday for the Energy Workshop at NV Energy. It was our first event in the series of monthly workshops and networking events focused on sustainability to help businesses "green up" their operations.
Attendees included a diverse range of business professionals and represenatives interested in what sustainability means for their organization. We were excited to see both new and familiar faces! Guests included Home Energy Connection, GoingGreen.com, Greenspun Media, Design Concepts, SNWA, Liquid Stucco, IPAX, Clark County Planning, Everything Electric, Bombard Renewable Energy, Herndon Solutions Group, Sopra Homes, Omega Energy, JusAlt Inc., Sierra Air, JCC Organic VV, Habitat for Humanity, Blind Center of NV, LVVWD, Landmark Home Design, Free Energy Store.

The event started with general networking giving guests the opportunity to get accquainted. Everyone enjoyed continental breakfast treats and java provided by NV Energy to "power" attendees on a Friday morning.
The presentation portion of the workshop included an introduction and overview to Project ecoBrand as a platform for green networking and business development opportunities. Your's truly gave a short demonstration on functionality and how to utilize the Project ecoBrand website for marketing and networking benefits.
Save Energy, Save Money
Emily Huffman, Energy Educator at NV Energy, discussed and answered questions on the energy saving programs available for business. Money saving incentive and rebate programs she reviewed include:
- CoolShare (providing a FREE web-programmable thermostat)
- Renewable Generations (renewable energy systems rebate programs)
- Energy Plus New Homes (builder incentive for new energy efficient homes)
- SureBet Program (incentive for energy efficient business imporvements)
